Mong Yen came to Canada as a refugee in 1980. After several years of settling down in Toronto he attended the University of Ottawa, where he earned a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. He moved to British Columbia in 1992. The landscapes in the west coast is a continual source of inspiration. He loves drawing and sketching, his favorite medium is watercolor.
